Same
Day Drug Screen
Results Now Available
We are pleased to announce that our clinic now has
the ability to produce drug screen results (for specimens that test
Negative) on a same day basis! Thanks to our alliance with Medtox
Laboratories this much anticipated program is a reality.
Recently several employers have commented that the
standard 2-3 day wait for drug screen results has caused them to lose
applicants to companies that do not require drug testing. Though the
applicant market has loosened up some, the competition for qualified
employees continues to rage on. So, we tested the Medtox same day
system with high hopes, and we were NOT disappointed! This system
consistently gives accurate results, and produces a legally defensible
paper trail for the employer. Negative specimens are reported on the
same day, so you can go ahead and hire that new employee! Non-Negative
specimens are sent to the lab for confirmation and are generally
reported within 3-5 days.
Presently only NON DOT Regulated drug screens
may be tested using the same day system, but there are things in the
works at the Federal level to allow DOT regulated tests to use the
same technology. All of the employers currently utilizing this system
are absolutely thrilled and we guarantee you will be too! Call today
to take advantage of this exciting new program.

What’s
New at The Clinic?
As our business continues to grow, we
continue to look for ways to improve. April marked the completion of
our "Clinic Re-carpeting Project" which brightened things up
quite a bit. We’re thrilled with how the new carpet looks, and it is
being enjoyed by patients and staff alike.
In March our staff completed a Mission Statement,
and plan for accomplishing that mission. Though we have known in
our minds and hearts our purpose as caregivers, we are excited to have
created a verbalized, tangible manifest. Every staff member has a copy
prominently displayed in their work area as a constant reminder of our
common goal. Please allow us to share it with you:
Our
Mission:
To
be the Occupational Medicine clinic of choice
for businesses within our geographic target market
by providing the best medical care available under the workers
compensation program, with appropriate emphasis on returning employees
to the productive workplace environment.
We will
accomplish this by:
Putting
the needs of our patients and their employers above other concerns.
Staffing
our clinic with positive, caring, growth oriented professionals.
Continually
updating our equipment, technology and treatment techniques.
Selecting
ancillary providers that share our philosophies and goals in
medicine.
Providing
ongoing training of our staff.
Maintaining
a clinic that is clean and comfortable, with minimal wait times.
Treating
our patients with genuine respect and courtesy at each and every
visit.
Graciously
accepting both praise and criticism, when it is given.
Empowering
our staff to positively affect the "experience" others
have with our clinic.

Authorization
Forms
Tom Cruise’s line in "Jerry McGuire"
couldn’t be more appropriate for this article: "Help me,
Help you!" Actually, "Help us, Help you" is
more accurate. Specifically we are asking for your help in the proper
(and consistent) use of our Treatment Authorization Forms.
Colorado work comp laws mandate that medical
providers obtain authorization from the employer before treating an
injured worker, except in the case of an acute injury with obvious
discomfort. As a security measure, we have adopted this policy for our
"Corporate Medical Services" as well. After all, it‘s your
money isn’t it?
We recently updated our authorization forms to make
them easier to work with. Heck, we even put a map on the back! Please
help us by utilizing them at every opportunity. Pictured at left is a "properly"
filled out form. Note that it contains all the appropriate and
necessary information so that we may begin treating John immediately.
Had John’s supervisor sent him with an incomplete form, his
treatment would have been delayed while our staff attempted to contact
her.
Please take the time
to completely and accurately fill out an authorization form when
sending an employee for care, especially when dealing with drug
screens and physicals. You must indicate if they are regulated
by the DOT. What are the circumstances of the drug screen:
Pre-Employment? Post Accident? Random? Probable Cause? We pride
ourselves on providing appropriate medical care in a prompt and
efficient manner. With your help, we can continue to maintain this
high standard! Thanks.
